New Year, New Ventures
As a family-owned and operated business, we have been a cherished part of the Renton community for more than 20 years. With heavy hearts, we must share that after careful consideration following the recent fire, we have made the difficult decision not to rebuild our store.
While we are deeply touched by the generous donations to our fire restoration fund, after thoroughly evaluating the costs of replacing equipment, inventory, and infrastructure, we have determined that reopening would not be financially sustainable for our small business.
This decision wasn't made lightly. We are profoundly grateful for the overwhelming support we've received from our community during this challenging time. Your kind words, memories shared, encouragement, and donations to help sustain us and our employees have meant the world to us.
To our loyal customers who have made Top of the Hill their go-to destination for fresh produce and local products over the past two decades, thank you. Your trust in us to provide quality items for your families' tables has been our greatest honor. We're especially grateful to the local farmers and vendors who have been our partners throughout this journey.
What's Next
As we turn the page to a new chapter, we wanted to share that Damu has begun consulting with local grocery stores, sharing his expertise in produce selection and management. Jackie is exploring new opportunities in the restaurant industry and has a promising prospect on the horizon. We're grateful that our years of experience serving the community are opening new doors for both of us.
While this marks the end of our physical store in the Renton Highlands, the relationships we've built and the memories we've created will forever remain in our hearts.
We will maintain our social media presence on Facebook and Instagram for the next few months to stay connected and share any updates regarding our journey.
Thank you, Renton, for 20 wonderful years of allowing us to serve you. It has been our privilege to be part of your community.

Top of the Hill attempted burglary suspect
Detectives need help identifying a suspect in an attempted burglary at the Top of the Hill Quality Produce two days before arson destroyed the building. The suspect was captured on video surveillance, arriving at the store just before 11 pm on Thursday, August 22, and not leaving for nearly an hour. The video shows him repeatedly going to his car, retrieving different burglary tools, and returning to the store. The store’s door and lock sustained significant damage, but the suspect could not enter the business.
The suspect vehicle is a 2006-2010 light-colored Jeep Grand Cherokee without a front license plate. The suspect is described as a white male with dark, possibly reddish-brown hair and a beard. He’s estimated to be between 25 and 35 years old.
Detectives have probable cause for attempted Burglary in the Second Degree. They would also like to speak with him about the arson on August 24 at 2:48 am.
